Agencies Cautioned Over Telework Denials for Disabled Workers

Government agencies should avoid outright revoking previously approved telework arrangements or denying such requests for federal workers with disabilities, according to new guidance from the Trump administration.

Such a “blanket approach” risks violating federal requirements for reasonable disability accommodations, the EEOC and the Office of Personnel Management said in guidance released Wednesday.

“We strongly caution agencies against revoking previously granted telework without first making an individualized determination in each case,” the two agencies wrote.
