Again Slamming Banner’s Secrecy Requests, NLRB Says Discussing Discipline Legal Right

An Arizona hospital illegally interfered with employee rights under the National Labor Relations Act by asking employees not to talk to co-workers about internal complaints that are under investigation by the hospital, the National Labor Relations Board held June 26 (Banner Health Sys., 2015 BL 205413, N.L.R.B., 6/26/15).

The 2-1 decision was the second ruling by the board on the conduct of Banner Health Systems, which operates Banner Estrella Health Center. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit vacated a 2012 decision because of the board’s lack of a quorum for action.
