AFL-CIO Sues NLRB Over Second Set of Union Election Rules

The country’s largest union federation has sued the federal labor board over its second set of changes to how the process of unionization in the private sector works.

The AFL-CIO claims the National Labor Relations Board rulemaking, which eliminates its so-called blocking charge policy, was based on “grossly inaccurate data” and otherwise failed to follow the procedures required for federal administrative rulemaking. The lawsuit, which was filed in a Washington federal court on Wednesday by the AFL-CIO and the Baltimore-D.C.
