AFL-CIO Head Trumka to Visit Mexico for Trade Meetings (1)

One of the top U.S. labor figures will visit Mexico next week to meet with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and other senior officials to discuss efforts to pass a long-stalled revision to a trilateral free trade agreement between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said he will visit Mexico City Sept. 4 with a delegation of AFL-CIO executive council members, likely to include representatives from the construction, industrial, transportation, and public sectors. In addition to López Obrador, the delegation also will meet with Mexico’s secretary of finance and secretary of labor, and Mexican workers.
