ADP Must Face Lawsuit Over Alleged Failure to Catch Missed Meals

Payroll provider Automated Data Processing Inc. must face a lawsuit filed by a company that says its software failed to recognize the need to pay one hour extra for missed meals as required under California wage and hour laws, a federal court in the state ruled.

Plaza Home Mortgage Inc. alleged plausible breach of contract, express and equitable indemnity claims, and a claim for declaratory relief in its lawsuit filed against ADP, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California said Monday.
