Acosta Defends Epstein Deal, Relationship With Trump

Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta defended his decade-old plea deal as a federal prosecutor in the sex-trafficking case against billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein. Acosta emphasized he has an “outstanding” relationship with President Donald Trump and deflected questions about how long he’ll remain at the agency.

Weighing In: Trump this week defended the job Acosta’s been doing at the Department of Labor but when asked about the 2008 plea deal said he’s “going to be looking at that and looking at it very closely.”
