The American Civil Liberties Union illegally terminated a staffer who leveled numerous complaints about abusive behavior in the workplace and gender discrimination, a National Labor Relations Board judge ruled.
NLRB Administrative Law Judge Michael Rosas held Wednesday that Katherine Oh, who was senior policy counsel at the organization, was terminated in retaliation for protected concerted activity.
The ACLU’s staff union, the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union, filed the charges after Oh was fired in April 2022 for publicly criticizing supervisors on X.
Oh said in a post that she was “physically repulsed” to be “working under incompetent/abusive bosses.”
