A former Accenture LLP consultant sued the company for racial and religious discrimination, claiming managers told him to hide his dreadlocks and that his Rastafarian hairstyle prevented career advancement at the firm.
Joseph M. Nelzy filed the lawsuit claiming Accenture violated federal civil rights laws and New York anti-discrimination statutes, including the CROWN Act that protects natural hairstyles, according to a complaint filed May 13 in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
