The Biden administration is bolstering a visa program for young immigrants who are abused by their parents.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, part of the Department of Homeland Security, on Monday unveiled a suite of policy changes to the Special Immigrant Juvenile program, including updated rules to ensure young people don’t age out while their petition is pending, and aren’t forced to contact alleged abusers.
“These policies will provide humanitarian protection to vulnerable young people for whom a juvenile court has determined that it is in their best interest to remain in the United States,” USCIS Director Ur Jaddou said ...
