ABN Amro Picks First Female Chief Executive in Its History (2)

ABN Amro Bank NV is set to have its first female chief executive officer.

The Dutch lender, whose origins date back more than 300 years, has picked Marguerite Berardto succeed Robert Swaak, who last year unexpectedly announced plans to step down just over three months into a new term without offering details.

Berard, who was previously the head of French commercial and personal banking at BNP Paribas SA, is expected to assume the role on April 23, the bank said in a statement on Friday.
