ABA Delegates Back Equal Rights Amendment, Deem Expiration Void

American Bar Association delegates voted to urge implementation of the Equal Rights Amendment at their annual meeting Tuesday, stating the bar’s position that a disputed deadline set by Congress for states to ratify the amendment is void.

The vote represents an endorsement from the nation’s highest-profile professional association of attorneys that the ERA has been fully ratified as the 28th Amendment.
