Kraft Heinz Inc. must face a former employee’s lawsuit alleging the company unlawfully fired him after he raised food safety concerns.
The US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit determined that a reasonable jury could find Wilbert Finley’s food safety complaint contributed to Kraft’s decision to fire him. If Finley didn’t make those food safety complaints, the company may not have made that decision, the appeals court said in reversing and remanding the case for further proceedings.
