1st Franklin Financial Settles EEOC Disability Suit for $750,000

1st Franklin Financial Corporation, a consumer lender, will pay $750,000 to settle claims from the EEOC that it denied reasonable accommodations to employees with disabilities and illegally fired them.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission sued 1st Franklin Financial, alleging the company based in the Southeast has been engaged in the misconduct, including Americans with Disabilities Act violations, since 2022.

In one case, a customer service representative with multiple medical conditions contributing to heart attacks was fired after requesting a short leave until being released from the hospital.
