$1.7 Million Settlement With ZipRealty Approved

A federal judge in Arizona April 1 approved a $1.7 million agreement between ZipRealty Inc. and 504 former real estate agents, settling claims that the national real estate brokerage firm misclassified agents as outside sales people and denied them overtime and minimum wage (Anderson v. ZipRealty, Inc., D. Ariz., 12-332, 4/1/14).

Approving the settlement “in all respects,” Judge James A. Teilborg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona dismissed with prejudice the agents’ Fair Labor Standards Act and state law claims.
