$14.3 Million Wage Settlement Approved For 4,200 Roto-Rooter Service Technicians

A federal judge in New York has approved a $14.3 million wage settlement for some 4,200 Roto Rooter Services Co. service technicians in a class action claiming overtime and minimum wage violations (Morangelli v. Roto-Rooter Servs. Co.).

In an order entered Jan. 7, Judge Brian M. Cogan of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York approved the multistate settlement, which creates a fund covering claims for back pay for overtime, minimum wages, liquidated damages and litigation costs. Cogan granted preliminary approval on Sept. 17, 2013.
