US Sanctions Iran’s Top Crypto Exchange in Ongoing Push for Deal

The Trump administration sanctioned Iran’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange and three other entities in a continued effort to pressure the Islamic Republic into a deal to wind down President Donald Trump’s war.

The Treasury Department said Tuesday it had blacklisted four Iranian digital asset exchanges, including Nobitex, which is the largest in the country and was responsible for half of Iran’s crypto transactions in 2025. The department also sanctioned the firm’s chairman and a number of other officials at the company.
