Celsius Executive Pleads Guilty, Cooperates Against Mashinsky

Former top Celsius Network executive Roni Cohen-Pavon pleaded guilty to fraud charges and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in their case accusing Chief Executive Officer Alex Mashinsky of pumping up the price of the cryptocurrency lender’s token to entice customers to the platform.

Cohen-Pavon pleaded guilty Wednesday in New York federal court to four counts, including fraud, manipulation of securities prices and conspiracy. His sentencing was set for Dec. 11, 2024. According to Cohen-Pavon’s plea agreement, prosecutors will request leniency if he fully cooperates against his former boss.
