The Tennessee Department of Revenue (DOR) published a notice announcing that Washington County will implement a mineral severance tax. This tax will be set at a rate of 20 cents per ton effective Nov. 1. It applies to the extraction of sand, chert, sandstone, limestone, and gravel from the ground on or after this date. [Tenn.
