SBF Testimony on Legal Issues Limited to Data Retention Policy

Sam Bankman-Fried’s testimony about legal oversight at FTX will be limited to data-retention issues following a ruling by a federal court judge.

Bankman-Fried had hoped to use his testimony to say that FTX lawyers were aware of many of his actions that led to the collapse of the company. But Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled Friday that much of the proposed testimony would be confusing to jurors.

Kaplan listened to the testimony at a hearing Thursday afternoon. Bankman-Fried is still expected to testify for more than four hours on other issues related to the fraud case against him.
