A Texas appeals court partially dismissed a lawsuit alleging Robertson County insufficiently accounted for pipeline easements and imposed improper assessments on properties, but the ruling left a path forward for a potential class action.
The landowners, led by trustee representative Karl C. Hoppess, argue Robertson County undervalued the easements on the pipeline businesses and their real property, which resulted in an unfair tax burden. The plaintiffs seek remedies through the administrative appeals process and are additionally requesting for remedies outside that process, such as uniform declaratory judgment action and injunctive relief.
