Ontario Teachers Shuns Crypto After $95 Million FTX Loss: FT

Canada’s Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is avoiding crypto investing after writing off a $95 million stake in failed digital-asset exchange FTX, the Financial Times reported, citing Chief Executive Officer Jo Taylor.

  • “We’re still working through what exactly happened there and you’re going to be careful,” FT cites Taylor as saying. “It’d be unwise for us to rush” into additional crypto investments
  • OTPP invested in FTX in 2021 and early 2022, and wrote down its entire stake in November
