Near Launches Blockchain Operating System for Fintech Developers

Swiss blockchain foundation Near has launched what it’s billed as the first blockchain operating system, which is allowing thousands of developers to build decentralized finance capabilities.

Marieke Flament, chief executive officer of Near Foundation, said the open-source project enables coders to build and share thousands of widgets of blockchain code and could help “close the gap” between traditional and decentralized finance. She likened the Near gateway to the “GitHub, Reddit, and Amazon of web3.”
