MarketAxess Muni Head Winterstein Departs for Blockchain Firm

Stephen Winterstein, who formerly served as a municipal-bond executive at the electronic trading company MarketAxess Holdings, is joining a tech company that’s seeking to bring blockchain to the municipal market.

Alpha Ledger Technologies Inc., which does business as Alphaledger, uses blockchain technology to facilitate the origination of municipal loans. The company was founded in 2019 outside of Seattle. Winterstein is joining Alphaledger as head of capital markets, according to a statement.
