Kuwait’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry said it’s drafted a law to enable and regulate the integration of blockchain and artificial intelligence into the country’s e-commerce sector.

The legislation, which requires approval by the Council of Ministers, includes provisions to enhance transaction security, operational efficiency, and consumer protection, Khalifa Abdullah Al-Ajeel, minister of commerce and industry, told a forum on Wednesday.

The bill will encourage the use of blockchain technology for transaction validation, smart contract automation and improved consumer safeguards, Al-Ajeel said.
