IRS Announces Flood Disaster Tax Relief for Alaska Residents

The Internal Revenue Service will provide tax relief and extend filing deadlines for individuals and businesses in the Juneau, Alaska, area affected by flooding until May 1, 2025, the agency announced Friday.

The IRS will begin to provide tax relief to individuals and businesses in the city and borough of Juneau as designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the agency said.

In addition, the agency said penalties for failing to make payroll and excise tax deposits due on or after Aug. 5, 2024, and before Aug. 20, 2024, will be abated, as long as the deposits were made ...
