Hagerty Aide Luke Pettit Tapped for Treasury’s Bank Policy Lead

The Trump administration has tapped Luke Pettit, a staffer for Republican Senator Bill Hagerty, for a senior role in the US Treasury Department.

Pettit has been nominated as assistant secretary for financial institutions, according to a notice on Congress.gov. Pettit will oversee the Treasury division office that plays a major role in crafting policy to regulate banks, fintech companies including digital-asset firms, non-bank mortgage lenders and many other financial companies. The role requires Senate confirmation.
