France’s market regulator AMF said it was withdrawing the registration of BYKEP SAS as a digital asset service provider after the prudential control authority found anti-money compliance issues in an on-site visit.
- AMF made the decision on Sept. 27, with immediate effect, it said in a statement on its website
- Information gathered during the visit found transactions carried out on clients’ wallets without their consent in addition to ‘serious’ AML failures
- The company informed regulators on Sept. 8 of a theft of digital assets worth some 300,000 euros from a cyberattack
