Ether-Futures ETFs May Get SEC Approval by October: Crypto in DC

The US Securities and Exchange Commission might approve by October the first exchange-traded funds based on futures of Ether, according to people familiar with the matter.

Nearly a dozen firms including Volatility Shares, Bitwise, Roundhill and ProShares have filed to launch the ETFs, though it’s not immediately clear which firms’ applications may be first to get green lights.

The regulator started allowing trading in a fund that involves Bitcoin futures contract in late 2021, and such a product linked to Ether futures was expected to be next. The SEC continues to fight against ETFs based on Bitcoin itself, however. ...
