Direxion Becomes Latest Firm to Pull Ether-Futures ETF Filing

Direxion has pulled its application for an ETF based on Ether futures, becoming the latest asset manager to do so this week.

The company on Thursday requested with the US Securities and Exchange Commission the withdrawal of its Ether Strategy ETF, according to a filing with regulators. On Wednesday, rival shops Grayscale Investments and Bitwise appeared to pull back plans for just such an exchange-traded fund, which hasn’t been approved yet in the US.

Direxion is known for its robust ETF lineup, including a number of leveraged and inverse funds.
