Cryptoqueen’s Lawyer Faces Prosecution Over ‘Improper’ Threats

A lawyer for the fugitive “cryptoqueen” Ruja Ignatova is being prosecuted for sending “improper” legal threats in a case that is set to scrutinize London’s reputation management industry.

Claire Gill, a lawyer at firm Carter-Ruck, sought to target a victim who lost her inheritance in the OneCoin scam — one of the largest frauds ever perpetrated — according to the UK legal regulator. Gill sent a legal threat in April 2017, saying that she intended to sue Jennifer McAdam if she didn’t take down YouTube videos that discussed OneCoin’s links to criminals.
