Riot Platforms, Inc. has named Brad Jones as the first member of its newly launched advisory board, it said Tuesday.
Jones formerly served as the interim president and CEO of the Energy Reliability Council of Texas, leading ERCOT from May 2021 to November 2022 after a winter storm caused widespread power outages, Riot said. ERCOT operates the state’s electrical grid in a state that is home to many crypto miners.
He also previously held the role of president and CEO of the New York Independent System Operator, according to Riot, which focuses on Bitcoin mining and data center hosting. ...
