Crypto Firm BitGo Gets Singapore License for Custody, Trading

BitGo Singaporeobtained a Major Payment Institution license from the Singapore regulator, allowing it to offer custody and trading in digital assets, according to a statement.

  • The license allows the firm to “provide digital payment token services of dealing in and safeguarding digital assets together with cross-border money transfer services,” said Youngro Lee, CEO of BitGo Singapore in an emailed response to questions
  • NOTE: The license follows an in-principle approval BitGo received in December
    • The final license will allow clients to buy and sell digital assets from BitGo’s cold storage vaults, the Goldman Sachs-backed firm said in the statement
