The agency is responsible for asset forfeitures, and has handled billions in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin over the years. Coinbase Prime will now handle custody and trading for the agency’s large-cap digital assets, the San Francisco-based firm said in a blog posting Monday. The five-year contract is valued at $32.5 million, according the agency’s website. The services will be used by the Department of Justice and Department of Treasury Asset Forfeiture Programs.
