Bankman-Fried Case Reassigned to US Judge Lewis Kaplan in NY (1)

The fraud case against FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried has been reassigned to US District Judge Lewis Kaplan in Manhattan after the original judge in the case recused herself over a potential conflict of interest.

Kaplan, who was assigned the case on Monday, is taking over for US District Judge Ronnie Abrams, who stepped down from the case last week because her husband is a partner at New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell.
