PG&E Director Kimmel Resigns From Embattled California Utility

Roger H. Kimmel has stepped down as a director for embattled utility PG&E Corp. and its Pacific Gas & Electric Co. utility unit, the same day that Governor Gavin Newsom demanded changes to the board.

Kimmel, who is also vice chairman of Rothschild Inc., has been a PG&E director since 2009. He stepped down Jan. 14, according to a regulatory filing Jan. 15.

His departure comes as California’s biggest utility owner is on the brink of bankruptcy and state lawmakers and regulators have called for sweeping changes to its corporate structure. The company said Jan. 14 it plans to file...
