Constellation Wins Key Step for 2027 Three Mile Island Restart

Constellation Energy Corp., the largest nuclear power operator in the US, is a step closer to restarting its reactor at Pennsylvania’s Three Mile Island next year.

The company received the go-ahead to transfer electricity rights from its Eddystone Generating Station near Philadelphia to the Crane Clean Energy Center, a nuclear facility formerly called Three Mile Island. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commissionon Monday approved Constellation’s request to transfer so-called capacity injection rights to the site known for the biggest US nuclear accident 47 years ago.
