California’s Women on Boards Law Dodges Investor’s Challenge (1)

A California rule requiring that public companies in the state have women on their boards has dodged a challenge in federal district court.

Creighton Meland, a shareholder in OSI Systems Inc., couldn’t show that his right to vote in board elections is harmed by the rule, Judge John A. Mendez of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California said Monday.

Until recently, OSI Systems had an all-male board.
