U.S. Dry Ice Plan Needed to Transport Vaccine: State Leaders

It would be “helpful” for the federal government to coordinate distribution of dry ice to states so they don’t compete against each other for material needed to distribute Covid-19 vaccines, said Rachel Levine, president of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials.

  • Vaccines must be kept extremely cold; minus 70 degrees Celsius for Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE product and minus 20 degrees Celsius for Moderna Inc.
