Roberts Pressed by Democrats on Judiciary Stock Conflicts (1)

Two Democratic lawmakers asked Chief Justice John Roberts to provide more information about reported conflicts within the federal judiciary after a report that federal judges heard cases in which they or their family members had a financial connection.

The Thursday letter from Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) comes after a Wall Street Journal report that 131 judges failed to disclose stock investments in public companies , which is a violation of federal law and judicial ethics.
