Sports Park Cites Trump Comments to Bolster Insurance Suit

A Pennsylvania youth sports center is hoping to leverage President Trump’s recent remarks on business interruption insurance to force its provider to cover pandemic-related losses.

Chester County Sports Arena on April 24 sued a subsidiary of The Cincinnati Insurance Cos., asking a federal court to find that Pennsylvania’s stay-at-home mandate triggered a property access provision of its policy.

The arena, in its complaint, cited the president’s comments that “seemed to support insurance coverage for business loss like that suffered by the plaintiff.”
