Senate’s Brown Demands Briefing From Pretium on Evictions (1)

Pretium Partners’ Donald Mullen is facing demands that his firm brief lawmakers on attempts to kick tenants out of rental homes despite a U.S. moratorium on evictions during the pandemic.

In a Thursday letter to Mullen, Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown asked about reports that Pretium has sought to remove more than 1,000 tenants and that eviction notices have been particularly high in counties with Black renters. Mullen’s company is one of the U.S.’s biggest owners of single-family rental properties.
