Minor League Baseball Clubs Can’t Revive Covid Insurance Claims

The owners and operators of several minor league baseball teams lost a bid to reinstate their insurance claims for “catastrophic financial losses” they incurred when the 2020 season was canceled due to the Covid pandemic, after the Ninth Circuit declined to reconsider its ruling in the lawsuit.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit denied the teams’ petition for panel rehearing and petition for rehearing by the en banc court, in an order issued Wednesday.
