Michigan Governor Faces Two New Covid-19 Recall Petitions

Two recall petitions attacking Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Covid-19 health orders were approved for signature gathering on Wednesday.

The Michigan Board of State Canvassers accepted language for separate petitions brought by conservatives James Makowski and Michael Garabelli. They say Whitmer (D) should be ejected based on orders she issued seeking to slow the spread of Covid-19, including a prohibition on elective medical procedures and a statewide shelter-in-place rule.
