The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire has convinced a federal judge to reduce by 35% the number of nomination papers its candidates must submit in order for their names to appear on the state’s general election ballot this November.
Federal courts have ordered other states to adjust their requirements for third-party or independent candidates to account for the complications of the coronavirus outbreak. Minor party candidates in Pennsylvania, for example, only have to collect 10% of the typical number of signatures required in order to appear on the general election ballot in November.
