Rule Giving Unions Say in Federal Projects on Trump’s To-Do List?

President Donald Trump is hearing from both supporters and opponents on his predecessor’s rule allowing unions to set employment terms on federal construction projects.

President Barack Obama in 2009 signed an executive order allowing federal agencies to require project labor agreements on projects with a total cost of at least $25 million.

Associated Builders & Contractors in January joined a coalition of business groups in sending Trump a letter requesting that he rescind Obama’s order. Trump should also reinstate a pair of PLA-related executive orders signed in 2001 by former President George W. Bush, the coalition said. Those orders prevented ...
