Yazoo Valley Electric Power Association was hit with a proposed class suit in federal court accusing it of allowing unauthorized criminal actors to access customers’ personally identifiable information, including their names and Social Security numbers.
Plaintiff Steven Sanders says the breach occurred in August 2024, but that he was only notified of it Jan. 30, 2025. He also says that the notice of the breach failed to state whether the threat was contained and how the breach occurred, information “vital to victims of a data breach.”
