Wilderness Rehab Beats Class Status in Patient Safety Suit

Families can’t proceed as a class in their suit challenging the marketing practices of a Montana residential treatment center, a federal court said April 5.

The plaintiffs’ arguments about the number of potential class members are too speculative to establish numerosity, Judge Donald W. Molloy wrote for the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana.

Wilderness Alternative School promised the families it would provide a safe place for their children recovering from addiction, they say. But the sons of the two named plaintiffs escaped from the facility by stealing a school truck.
