Whirlpool Free From False Ad Class Suit Over Self-Cleaning Ovens

Whirlpool Corp. oven owners are stuck with a ruling denying class certification of their false advertising suit after the Sixth Circuit found nothing warranted a quick appeal.

The class would have included millions of consumers who bought AquaLift self-cleaning ovens. The owners allege the “new” and “innovative” self-cleaning feature didn’t work.

The case doesn’t present a novel issue of class certification and nothing about the posture of the case below strongly favors immediate review, the appeals court said Nov. 5.
