Wawa Employee’s Bid to Certify Class in Overtime Pay Feud Denied

A former Wawa Inc. employee’s request to certify a class of colleagues who were allegedly owed overtime pay stopped short when he couldn’t show others were affected, a federal district court in Pennsylvania said.

Shawn McGlade, a former assistant general manager, failed to show Wawa maintained an unlawful policy that required employees to work off the clock. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, which previously said his claim was also time-barred, decided Monday his motion for class certification was moot.
