The Washington Post said it will provide $6.7 million in cash and noncash benefits to end a lawsuit alleging it violated California’s Automatic Renewal Law, according to a motion seeking preliminary approval of the settlement.
The motion, filed May 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, says The Post would automatically provide over $4.3 million in account credit codes to would-be settlement class members who don’t submit claims, along with a cash payment of $2.4 million to be used to pay all approved claims submitted.
